Applications for the next edition of the Sangue Novo, to be held in October 2017 at ModaLisboa – Lisboa Fashion Week, must be submitted until the 30th of June 2017. The Sangue Novo is intended for all finalists of higher education degrees in Fashion Design from Portuguese or international schools, and young fashion designers who have already finished their training and are currently starting their own brands. To participate, the candidates must submit an original project of womenswear, menswear or a combination of both, for the Spring/Summer 18 season.
Innovation, irreverence and creativity are the criteria of the jury, which will select between eight and ten projects to be presented at the Sangue Novo show, at the 49th edition of ModaLisboa – Lisboa Fashion Week in October 2017. The winner of the best collection will receive a 5000 euros prize offered by ModaLisboa and will have direct entry at the Sangue Novo show of March 2018. As in previous editions, one of the designers will be invited to represent Portugal at FashionClash, the Dutch Fashion Festival that brings together emerging talents from all over the world. FashionClash Award: under the partnership of ModaLisboa and the Dutch Fashion Festival, FashionClash, one of the designers of Sangue Novo will be invited to represent Portugal at the Maastricht festival, which brings together emerging talents from all over the world. The selected designer will be chosen by the direction of FashionClash and announced after the show. Regarding the FashionClash decision there will be no appeal.
The novelty of this edition is The Feeting Room Award. In this case, the winner will be chosen by the direction of The Feeting Room and will have the opportunity to sell his / her collection in the TFR stores, in Lisbon and Oporto. The winner will be chosen by the direction of The Feeting Room and announced after the show.
The projects will be analysed according to several criteria: concept, research, design, selection of colours and materials. The jury of experts- composed by Eduarda Abbondanza (President of ModaLisboa), and other guest professionals- will select between 8 and 10 finalist projects to be presented in the catwalk show. Selected candidates will be contacted until July 21th, 2017.
