MICHAEL DUNEV “LIQUID” AT EVARISTO VALLE FOUNDATION MUSEUM

Evaristo Valle Foundation Museum has over thirty years committed with informative exhibitions of the art of photography, whereby on Sunday, April 3, at 13:00h, will open an exhibition of the photographer, art dealer, gallery owner and editor Michael Dunev (Madrid, 1952).

The exhibition, with the title “Liquid”, is formed by 38 images in black and white printed by the artist on Hahnemülle Photorag Pearl paper, sometimes digital media and other analog. This work is a personal reflection about the many moods of water. The images have been captured between 1977 and 2014, in different places where the author has lived or spent long time and repeated periods, as Wales, USA, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Portugal or France, but especially in Costa Brava where he now resides.

“Liquid” with “Waypoints”, “Passages” and “Nightmoves” series are part of the important PARALLAX book, recently published by Polígrafa editions that brings together a hundred photographs, accompanied with prologue and texts by the author, Michael Kenna, Robert Flynn Johnson and Stuart Denenberg; fundamental publication covering four decades of Dunev photographic´s work , which will be available in the Museum during the exhibition, for viewing and sale.

We can also enjoy the audiovisual Umbral, based on photographs and inspired by the Memorial to the israeli artist Dani Karavan performed, with the title of Pasaje, in Portbou, homage of the philosopher Walter Benjamin, where he committed suicide in 1940 and his ashes lie. Pasaje is not only a reference to the fateful death of Benjamin, but also to illustrate the transit or passages of the urban and contemporary life.
