Over the course of the last six years, Gioielli in Fermento/ Jewels in Ferment has become one of the leading international jewellery competitions, based in Italy, with an annual award supported by Torre Fornello, an Italian wine maker advocating art and cultural values related to Mediterranean territories. Starting from the analysis of the different themes which change every year, but always in some way are related to the world of wine, each annual exhibition offers a glimpse into the creative process and the evolution of the participating artist’s work.

Six years after the start of the exhibition project, Gioielli in Fermento/ Jewels in Ferment offers to The Gallery at Reinstein Ross of New York a selection of curated works by Eliana Negroni, curator in charge of Gioielli in Fermento, and Bella Neyman, Gallery Director,, lovely presented in various editions of the international competition that annually celebrates the II Torre Fornello prize.

Through November 27th, 2016, the Gallery at Reinstein Ross is presenting highlights from Gioielli in Fermento, so visitors to the gallery will be granted unprecedented access to the work of thirty-four artists who have participated in the competition since its inception. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the creative process and the evolution of the participating artist’s work.

The Gallery at Reinstein Ross is a unique space in New York, thought to give light to the goldsmiths of research and artistic forms related to contemporary jewelry. The gallery presents a continuous schedule of group and solo shows and strives to partner with other galleries, museums and educational institutions. It is strategically located between the neighborhoods of greater propensity: the Meatpacking District and the West Village, steps from the new Whitney Museum.

Gioielli in Fermento is a competition open to professional goldsmiths, designers, as well as established and emerging jewelry artists. The competition consists of creating and exhibiting a unique piece of jewelry inspired by a specific theme. The theme changes every year, but is always related to the world of wine. The results are an impressive array of color, forms, and concepts that are unique to Gioielli in Fermento.
