Ismini Goula
Born 1980 in Thessaloniki, Greece. 2010-2012 Studies in Photography at Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin. Since 2009 lives and works in Berlin as a freelance photographer.
I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in the winter of 1980. Since my early 20s
photography has captured my interest and driven from creativity I started to
work intensively with the medium, in order to express my personal ideas
about the world that surrounds me.
I have attended photography seminars, workshops, several times my work
was nominated and got involved in diverse group exhibitions in galleries and
public spaces in Greece and abroad. In the winter of 2009 I moved to Berlin
to continue my education on photography. I got a master on photo-editing
and a photography diploma, made some books, some more exhibitions and
have met some wonderful people through the process.
My photography focuses mainly in the portraiture of people, in the subjective
environments that surrounds them but it is also about urban inner
landscapes and emotions I am longing for. It is an unceasing search for the
essence of the individual and the contrast between what seems to be and
what it could become.
{When I fall }
Luck runs out. My next fall can be it. If something happens, it happens.
To be vulnerable and at the same time primitive,
to mourn for being happy about something real,
to find comfort in your skin for what’s underneath.
It’s a puzzle but it is also destiny and you have chosen it.
I don’t try to understand no more, i can afford less but less becomes more.
Faith to a fading light that is constant and runs through me to all directions.
Do this exercise, see for your self.
The fall occurs inside you only need to learn how to fall.
Joe Kake
Joe Kake was born in Brazil. In the late 90s he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he began his work in photography at the FotoIncena Agency, as a black & white photographic laboratory technician.
In 1999 he went to Europe for the first time. In 2006 he moved to Berlin, where he learnt German and began his studies at the  „ NEUE SCHULE FÜR FOTOGRAFIE  BERLIN“.
The human body and its identity are central themes of Joe Kake’s oeuvre. He mostly uses natural light for his works, and is reluctant in employing Photoshop.
Kake’s fashion editorials focus on the models. Each time they create an atmosphere that provides the model with a new identity, even if just for a moment.
Kake chooses to use the format of photographic portraiture, because he has always seen the fashion image as a picture. In this way he can focus the human being at the centre of his work, through which he tries to understand the world and himself. Kake claims: “It is through the other that I know who I am”.
Beauty is his eternal aim and focus.  He believes, “There is no pleasure, creation or desire to go on without beauty”.
