Andreas Angelidakis is an architect who works in the intersection of digital culture and architectural production. Internet is where images are born and tasted, where new conducts define the ideas developed by the society. Having all this into account, Andreas develops his architecture responding to the necessities, habits and peculiarities of the next generations' individuals, such as the children who grow up with the new digital technologies.
Apart from private clients, Andreas develops his work for cultural foundations, independent commissioners, and artists, as well as corporate plans. This architect has been working for several years between the Internet and real life in the field of contemporary art, transferring his ideas in exhibitions, museums and more recently commercial developments. His work is between experimentation and implementation, between ideas and buldings.
Angelidakis was graduated in Architecture from the Architecture School in South California, Santa Mónica. He has been awarded the “Who is Who in American Universities” Award, an award to his thesis Sci-Arc in the School of Architecture, and the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial award. Nowadays he devotes himself to teaching in the University of Patras and he is also a lecturer in Tsukuba University of Tokyo, in the Arts Fair in Dubai, discussions with the British Town Council, in the
Architecture School in Stockholm, in the Lund College of Technology in New York, in the Otis Parson of Los Angeles, Yebeam Atelier in New York, the Foundation of the Ancient world of Athens, the School of Architecture of Volos, the Center of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki or the Center of Architecture of Eindhoven, among others.His work has been presented in places such as the Magasin Center of Contemporary Art in Grenoble, in the MU Foundation in Eindhoven, in the Arts and Architecture center in Stockholm, in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, Proyectos Casco in Utrech, Visionaire in New York, Sonar Festival Barcelona, the Experimental Biennial of Lisbon, the Biennial of Venice, the Biennial of Sao Paoplo, and more. Angelidakisasí's projects have been published as texts in magazines such as L’Arca, Egg, Purple, Purple Fashion, Interview, Arkitekten, New York Times, Visionaire, Vogue Italia, Vogue Hellas, Casa Vogue, Citizen K, Contemporary, Arftforum, Vimagazino, Corriere de la Serra, La Republica, Le Monde, Metropolis M, Popular Science, Status, Abitare, Textfield, Casa Interni, Mark Magazine and now in Noovo Magazine.
